KENNEWICK, Wash. — The 2024 Convention for Jehovah’s Witnesses is happening from Aug. 23 to 25 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. This is the third three-day convention this summer, out of four planned. The next one is happening next weekend, Aug. 30 to Sept. 1.

The theme for this year is “Declare the Good News!”

This event has been coming to the Tri-Cities since 1992. It brings thousands of people from around the region to the Tri-Cities annually.

Judy and Charles McKee from the Clarkston congregation said they’ve been to the convention for Jehovah’s Witnesses every year for decades now.

“I have attended these wonderful conventions that are provided since 1952 and always you learned so much about the Bible and what provisions that are made,” said Judy McKee.

They both said they’re always learning something new.

“This morning, one of the speakers said, quoted Matthew saying that you can't slave for God and riches, and I owned a business for a number of years. It was successful but I sold it, and I do believe sincerely, that our relationship with God is more important than any richest, you can store up here on the earth,” Charles McKee said.

The couple expressed that they have a worldwide brotherhood, and that it’s a privilege and it is encouraging to be around people with the same beliefs as they do, and to be able to share that anywhere they go.

3,200 from around the region were invited to attend this weekend. The events are held in both English and Spanish at the Toyota Center.
