PASCO, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Airport is growing!

More than halfway through 2024, and the Tri-Cities Airport's latest quarterly numbers are continuing to rise.

Airport Director Buck Taft said Quarter 2 numbers showed 114,000 passengers boarded a flight at the Tri-Cities Airport. That number is a 5% increase over last year's Quarter 2 numbers.

Taft said the increase is a reflection of the growing community.

"As a community grows and gets busier, the airport's going to grow and get busier," Taft said. "With that comes exciting new things like new flights, like the Phoenix flight. Now we're getting the second Phoenix flight in September, as well as Avelo is adding two more flights to Burbank. We'll have four flights a week. In October, Alaska is adding the daily LAX service. Those are exciting things that happened because of the growth of the community."

With the growth, Taft said the airport is working to make sure they have enough parking spots and gates to accommodate the traffic.
