Fire officials investigating blaze at Kennewick coffee shop Sunday

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Several fire crews responded to a restaurant fire Sunday night.

It happened at the Mis Raices Cafe Coffee Shop on West Kennewick Avenue, just off of Vista Way. Fire crews and officers with the Kennewick Police Department responded to a report of a fire inside the building around 7:40 p.m.

KPD officers closed down the intersection and about 2-3 blocks around the business to allow fire crews to work. The street reopened around 10 p.m.

Fire crews from around the region responded and firefighters had to attack the fire from inside the building. They used a ladder truck to access the fire from the roof. It took nearly three and a half hours before the fire and hotspots were out and firefighters were cleared from the scene.

At this time, it details are limited. Apple Valley News Now arrived at the scene about 10 minutes after the first call. Smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the building but if was minimal at the time.

It is not know if anyone was hurt or how the fire started. More information is expected to be released Monday morning.
