    Walla Walla Medical Center to host PACT Act Veteran Town Hall and Outreach event

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla veterans are invited to the Walla Walla VA's Town Hall and Outreach event Thursday.

    The outreach event will start at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 at the American Legion Post #34 in Pasco, located at 1029 West Sylvester Street.

    During the outreach event, information about several VA programs and community agencies will be available. Veterans Benefits Administration staff will be in attendance to assist.

    The event will transition into a face-to-face Town Hall at 4:30 p.m. to talk about updated details on PACT Act and eligibility options. It will be followed by a question and answer.

    Cooler for Thursday and Friday, warmer and more sunshine this weekend

    Today: Thursday will be a mostly sunny to partly cloudy day. Highs will be seasonal, meaning it’ll warm up into the mid-50s in the Cascades, with low to mid-60s in the Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley, Blue Foothills, and Blue Mountains.     Firefighters combat Tiger Creek fire near Walla Walla, 573 acres burned, 11% contained

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Firefighters continue to fight the Tiger Creek fire just 15 miles north of Walla Walla. According to Tom Stokesberry with the California Interagency Complex Incident Management team, firefighters have been able to contain the fire east of Tiger Creek.
