Tonight and Friday : The weather tonight will stay calm and dry, with some high clouds drifting across the sky. Thanks to an upper-level ridge building over the Pacific Northwest, we’ll see similar conditions all the way through Friday. However, the real concern for tonight and tomorrow is the potential for freezing temperatures. Areas from central Oregon up to the Kittitas Valley are quite likely to dip below freezing, but for places like the Columbia Basin and the Blue Mountain foothills, it's less certain. This is because clouds are expected to thicken overnight, and some areas will get warmer winds coming off the mountains, which could prevent freezing. So, the Freeze Watch for those spots has been canceled.

Friday Night into Saturday : Late Friday, the ridge will shift east, allowing a weak warm front to bring some light rain to northwest Oregon and western/central Washington. By Saturday morning, the rain will reach the Cascade Mountains, and by Saturday night, a cold front will park itself over the Cascades, keeping the rain going, especially at higher elevations where snow could fall above 8,000 feet. Expect rain totals of up to half an inch along the Washington Cascades by Saturday night, while other areas will stay mostly dry. Saturday will also feel milder, with temperatures warming into the 60s and low 70s.

In short: expect mostly calm and dry conditions, with chilly nights (possible frost in some spots), some rain over the Cascades Friday night into Saturday, and warmer temps on Saturday.
