Appleton Public Library: Volunteers needed to keep the children’s section organized by assisting with cart ordering and/or shelving. Shelving involves pushing a cart, placing items in order, and tidying books. Cart ordering involves arranging items on carts, and can be done while seated. Minimum of one 2-hour hour shift per week is requested. Proficiency in alphabetical and numerical order required. Training provided. Contact: Colleen, cholz@apl.org
Brewster Village: Is seeking volunteers with varied skills, experiences and interests to meet the social needs of residents in short- and long-term nursing homes. Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity and ReStore: Seeks ReStore volunteers to assist with customer service, merchandising, donation intake, cashiering, etc. Variety of shifts available. Contact: Amy, amyc@foxcitieshabitat.org
Journey Together Service Dog: Help socialize service dogs in training through this prison dog program that trains dogs to assist people with PTSD. Dogs are trained by inmates at Oshkosh Correctional Institution but need public exposure. Volunteers take dogs to public places like stores, parks, and restaurants on a flexible schedule. Outagamie County Nutrition Program: Seeks meal site volunteers to provide meals to older adults in Appleton, Kaukauna, Seymour, and Hortonville. Duties include packing meals, setting tables, serving, and clean-up. Retired & Senior Volunteer 55+ Program (RSVP): Is seeking volunteers ages 55 and better who live in Outagamie, Calumet and Waupaca counties to serve the community in a variety of roles, including in-person and virtually. Riverview Gardens: Become a Hoop House Helper by supporting community growth by planting, harvesting, and implementing organic pest management. Flexible hours between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Ideal for ongoing project enthusiasts and those seeking regular volunteerism. Responsibilities include record-keeping, adhering to organic agricultural practices, and collaborating with diverse teams. Tasks include bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 35 pounds), and tool usage. SOAR Fox Cities: Seeks volunteers for special needs dances. Volunteers are needed to socialize with and help serve participants.
