Rain sticks around with another chance for flash flooding
NEW ORLEANS — Partly cloudy skies can be expected for the first part of the day. Like the past several days, the majority of the rain will arrive in the afternoon hours. Rain could be heavy at times with some areas seeing flash flooding due to a large amount of rain in a short amount of time. We can expect an additional 1-3 inches of rain on top of what we've already received. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s. Lows tonight will fall to the mid 70s.
Study Warns: ‘Toxic Compounds’ Found in Sun-Exposed Plastic Bottles
Louisiana folks already have a hard time keeping cool in the summertime, and now we have to worry that our bottled water might be unsafe to drink. We have all forgotten our water bottles in the car on a hot summer day at some point. If you leave them in your car or in the sun long enough, you may have noticed that they have a strange chemical-like aftertaste. Scientists have been warning us that chemicals 'linked to hormonal imbalances' such as BPA can contaminate the liquid inside the bottle.
Heavy downpours moving through mid-day Friday
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Heavy downpours with showers and storms are moving through once again Friday. These are moving more than the activity on Thursday so that should limit flood potential. However rainfall rates will stay high heading in to next week. The ground is fairly saturated so be aware of flash flooding concerns over the next few days.
