AMITE, La. (WVUE) - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a rape suspect who missed his trial date. Gerald Stevens, 55, of Roseland, failed to appear at his trial on Monday, July 15, for a third-degree rape charge involving a juvenile from 2021.

Rain sticks around with another chance for flash flooding
NEW ORLEANS — Partly cloudy skies can be expected for the first part of the day. Like the past several days, the majority of the rain will arrive in the afternoon hours. Rain could be heavy at times with some areas seeing flash flooding due to a large amount of rain in a short amount of time. We can expect an additional 1-3 inches of rain on top of what we've already received. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s. Lows tonight will fall to the mid 70s.

Some Uptown area residents could see low water pressure this weekend
NEW ORLEANS — Some Uptown area residents may have lower than normal water pressure this weekend as the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board works on a water main. The 48-inch water main transmission on South Claiborne Avenue and Napoleon Avenue will be closed on Saturday at 8 a.m.
