Beryl set to make landfall as Category 1 Hurricane
Tropical Storm Beryl is, as of 5PM Sunday, continuing north-northwest as it inches closer to the Victoria Crossroads, according to a Sunday National Weather Service bulletin. Beryl is now expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Matagorda Bay, and it’s still anticipated to upgrade to a Category 1 Hurricane by the time it does so. But, the NWS still forecasts the storm could intensify into a Category 2 Hurricane. The storm has sped up slightly from 10 mph back to 12 mph.
One woman dead following Wednesday crash in Aransas County
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman is dead, and a man is in critical condition following a major crash in Aransas Pass on Wednesday. The Texas Department of Public Safety says that around 1:30 p.m., the 76-year-old woman was traveling southbound on State Highway 35 with her passenger, a 76-year-old man.
