Ameresco Celebrates the Completion of Construction of Colorado’s Largest Distributed Battery Energy Storage System
On July 29, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the construction of Ameresco, Inc.‘s multiple Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in collaboration with United Power, Inc., an electric cooperative serving Colorado’s northern Front Range. The event took place at United Power’s Bromley Substation located in Brighton. These battery energy storage systems underscore significant advancements in utility infrastructure, enhancing both resiliency and energy security as the industry shifts toward a more sustainable future. Together, they also represent the largest wholly-owned BESS asset portfolio in Ameresco’s history.

Houska Automotive Employee Forest Lathrop to Compete for Team USA
Forest Lathrop, a shop foreman, lead tech, and manager at Houska Automotive, has been selected to represent the USA Shooting Team in the International Practical Shooting Confederation’s Rifle World Shoot in Oulu, Finland from August 4 – 9, 2024. Originally from Hammond, Louisiana, Lathrop came to Colorado in 2004 and moved to Cheyenne in 2019. He has worked with Houska for 11 years, and “we are lucky to have him as part of our team,” said Houska Automotive Parts Manager Jennifer Houska.

United Airlines no longer employs flight attendant from Terrell Davis incident
Former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis shared a screenshot on Tuesday of a letter he received from United Airlines that banned him from traveling with the airline while a July 13 incident was reviewed. United Airlines has since clarified that the letter was received on July 14 and the travel ban has since been lifted.
