Friday Night Rivals: Highlanders block a late field goal to secure win over Hurricane
HURRICANE, W.Va (WCHS) — Hurricane celebrated their centennial year of football with an opening day matchup against Huntington High for Par Mar Friday Night Rivals but after a game of back-and-forth, the Highlanders came out victorious 38-35. Huntington were the first on the scoreboard through an Avionte Crawford pass to Jamari Tubbs but Hurricane were quick to respond with a big interception from Sean Legros who went on an even bigger 90 yard run into the end zone to tie things up.
Athens hands Gallia Academy their second straight loss against a TVC opponent this season
GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WOUB) – Facing off against their second TVC opponent of the season, the Gallia Academy Blue Devils hosted the Athens Bulldogs. The Blue Devils would end up losing their second straight game of the season, 55-6. Looking to bounce back after their week 1 loss after the Meigs Marauders, the Gallia Academy Blue Devils hosted the Athens Bulldogs at Memorial Field.
