Bicyclist seriously injured in Crawford County hit-and-run
CUBA, Mo (News First) – A man from Cuba, riding a motorized bicycle, was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident in Crawford County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened on ‘Z-Z’ Highway, just west of Holly Lane in Cuba when an unknown vehicle struck the front tire of the motorized bicycle ridden by 39-year-old Corey L. Abrams. The unknown vehicle then fled the scene. Abrams was seriously injured and had to be taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

St. Louis NAACP Files Federal Complaint Over Black Students’ Low Reading Scores
The St. Louis NAACP is making another move to improve literacy in local school districts — but this time, it’s looking to the federal government for help. The branch filed a complaint Aug. 19 with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights against 34 school districts in the city and county of St. Louis because of disparities in reading proficiency for Black students.
