Central Nebraska Man Sentenced for Unlawful Firearm Possession
United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Tesluach Gatkuoth, 27, of Grand Island, NE, was sentenced July 17, 2024, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska for being a felon in possession of a firearm. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced Gatkuoth to 120 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Gatkuoth’s release from prison, he will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.
Juveniles cited for stealing golf cart
Kearney, Neb. — Juveniles were cited after Kearney Police said they stole a golf cart from a local golf course over the weekend. Lt. Derek Luke said three juveniles stole a golf cart from Meadowlark Hills Golf Course, 3300 30th Ave., over the weekend. He added it was recovered by KPD on Monday.

LEXINGTON, Neb. (KNOP) - A Lexington man was charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to slit a man’s throat. Eber Gamolier, 20, was arraigned Wednesday on two felony charges: attempted murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. A judge set his bond at 10% of $200,000.

Peterson and his family harvest numerous deer each year, allowing them to give venison to others who enjoy it. The coordinator of UNK’s online master’s program in biology also opens his garage to students who need a place to clean their deer.
