ARCHBALD, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A special fundraiser for animals at a Lackawanna County animal shelter happened Sunday afternoon.

The event was held at Loyalty Barber Shop in Archbald in memory of its owner, Brian Nardella. He was tragically killed in a car crash in March.

Pet owners got to have professional pictures taken of their pets for a donation to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

Organizers say it’s a way to remember Brian and his love for animals.

“It means the world because Bryan was so heavily involved with donating to animals in need, so really, this is for him and just to honor him and a good way to give back to the community. He was an amazing partner, giving, generous, kind, you never felt like you were a stranger with Brian. He always no matter who you were made. You feel as if you were not only friend, but family,” Brian’s wife, Lynne Nardella, explained.

Loyalty Barber Shop also has another location in Wilkes-Barre.
