A Florida-based real estate company announced plans last year to build a $40 million, 44-acre shopping center on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Located across from Lowe's and Ollie's Bargain Outlet, Rob Tanner, owner of developer Impeccable Development told The Fayetteville Observer in October that a big-box retailer is slated to take the 147,583-square-foot anchor store at the new shopping center.

Moore County All-Stars become first team in region to play in Dixie Softball World Series
The 12-and-under Moore County Softball All-Stars are the first team from the region to ever play in the Dixie Softball World Series."I mean it really is a big deal," head coach Megan Jackson said.The team placed third in the district tournament and then finished second at states.All that is left is to travel to East Ouachita, Louisiana, for the World Series."From practice one I looked them in the eyes and I said 'Our goal is Louisiana at the end of July,'" Jackson said. "They all said OK!"The girls are on a mission to return to Moore County as champions."It's never happened so it would be like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Amelia Whitaker said.The Dixie Softball World Series is a double elimination tournament. New Amazon facility opens in Fayetteville
The giant new Amazon Fulfillment Center near Fort Liberty is starting to show signs of life. The new Amazon facility opened in June in Fayetteville at 6309 Bragg Blvd. The 1.3 million-square-foot-facility located in the Military Business Park was supposed to open in 2023, but a representative from Amazon told WRAL News the delay won't stop the company in its plans to hire 1,000 employees at the site.
Two People Charged In Eastern Lincoln County Break-Ins
LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment. LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Two people are facing charges for separate business break-ins that occurred in the Denver and Stanley areas. One break in occurred on June 10, at a restaurant near the 500 block of Brentwood Rd in Denver. The suspect entered through a door after hours and stole an electronic gaming machine. The other break-in occurred on July 10, near the 6000 block of Old Plank Road. In that case the suspects entered the business after hours and stole an ATM machine that had several thousand dollars in cash inside.

Lightning strike at Sanford Golf Course puts nearly half the carts out of commission
SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — Nearly half of the golf carts at Sanford Municipal Golf Course are temporarily out of commission due to a lightning event Sunday evening. According to the city, the course is currently operating with 26 of its 51 golf carts. As a result, those with late-morning tee times will likely not have access to a cart.
