Jazzworks! provides musical background to TRF fireworks finale
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Things will be getting jazzy at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory Saturday night. Jazzworks! at the Botanical Conservatory will feature the sounds of local jazz musicians Saturday before offering a view of the Three Rivers Festival fireworks finale. Musical acts performing on the Conservatory Terrace include The West Central Quartet, Ty Causey and Phil Schurger.
Marion County becomes majority non-white
(INDIANA CAPITAL CHRONICLE) — Marion County, Indiana’s most populous county, became majority non-white between 2020 and 2023, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau data. Heartland Sings to perform Opera in the Park at Promenade Park Riverfront
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Join the Heartland Sings at Promenade Park on Friday for a live opera concert. The event will start at 7:00 p.m. and is expected to end at 8:00 p.m. Opera in the Park will be free for the public. Heartland Sings will roll out the ART-V for the performance.
‘The Pink Unicorn’: Proceeds from one-woman play to benefit Positive Resource Connection
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A one-woman play happening in Fort Wayne on Friday and Saturday will benefit the Positive Resource Connection. ‘The Pink Unicorn’, a one-woman play by Elise Forier Edie, will be performed on July 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Theatre, with ticket proceeds benefiting the Positive Resource Connection. The production will star Maggie Kole Hunter and is directed by John Tolley.
Fort Wayne Urban League 'sneaker tour' kicks off at Sweetwater
The four pairs of sneakers on display at Sweetwater, where they'll stay until July 26, in the hall near the arcade. Four pairs of hand painted sneakers are traveling around various locations in Fort Wayne over the next month to promote Fort Wayne Urban League's upcoming fundraiser, the Sneaker Ball.

Twelve Parkview Health Nurses Receive Daisy Award
Twelve Parkview Health nurses were recognized this spring by The DAISY Foundation for extraordinary nursing. The DAISY Foundation was founded in memory of Patrick Barnes, a 33-year-old man who spent eight weeks in a hospital being treated for an autoimmune disorder. During his stay, Barnes received excellent nursing care, and, in his memory, his family created The DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond for their patients.
