Public's help sought in decades-old cold case
Investigators with the cold case team of the the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office are asking the public's assistance in a decades-old cold-case investigation. On July 10, investigators exhumed human remains from a Richmond cemetery in hopes of using recent advances in forensic biology and forensic DNA analysis to help solve the case, the office said in a press release.

Texas crash leaves one dead, another seriously injured
PECOS, Texas — A head-on collision on FM 1053 near mile marker 384 resulted in one death and one serious injury Saturday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash involved a 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2024 GMC Sierra. Donnavin Brown, a 21-year-old from Odessa, Texas, was driving the Ford F-150 southbound when his vehicle veered into the northbound lane. Nicholas Calloway, a 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, was driving the GMC Sierra and attempted to avoid the collision by moving into the southbound lane. However, Brown's vehicle returned to the southbound lane, striking Calloway's vehicle head-on. Calloway was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Braden. Brown sustained serious injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital.
