The Late Sandra Pabon to be Honored with Street Co-Naming on Bainbridge Avenue
Democratic City Council Member Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11) announced on June 20 that he successfully championed the upcoming co-naming of the intersection of East 204th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood as “Sandra Pabon Way” in honor of the late Sandra Pabon who had previously served as the chaplain of the 49th Precinct Clergy Council, as well as Democratic district leader and Democratic state committee woman for Assembly District 80. As reported, Pabon died in June 2023.

Assemblyman Zaccaro Family Fun Day
While the sun was out at the beginning of the Assemblyman John Zaccaro Family Fun Day Saturday the sky opened up not once but twice during the event. Four large inflatables were set up for the children to enjoy, there was a free cotton candy/popcorn unit, several community organization tables, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, slushies ,and ices, and several local 49th Precinct police officers who helped man game and building tables for children. The Bronx Zoo/New York Aquarium, NYFD, Bronx House and other organizations were on hand.

Sixth Annual Bronx Yemeni-American Parade Huge Success As Hundreds March. Friday June 28th was the Sixth Annual Yemeni-American parade in the Little Yemen section of the Bronx. The parade kicked off at White Plains Road traveling across Rhinelander Avenue passing the Bronx Muslim Center to Bronxdale Avenue. The parade then turned right on Bronxdale traveling to Morris Park Avenue. When it arrived at Morris Park Avenue the parade turned right onto Morris Park Avenue traveling to Unionport Road where it turned onto Rhinelander Avenue back to its end at White Plains Road.

North Jersey faces poor air quality and an impending heat advisory Friday morning
After a night of Independence Day celebrations, some parts of North Jersey were dealing with poor or even unhealthy air quality levels Friday morning. As of 10 a.m. Friday morning, parts of Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Morris counties were labeled either unhealthy or unhealthy for sensitive groups, per the Air Quality Index (AQI). By 11:30 a.m., most of the region was back down to a moderate AQI.
