CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) — A local cidery that features escape rooms and fun dinner events recently announced that it is closing after six and half years of operation. Grand Illusion Hard Cider, located at 26 West High Street in Carlisle, is owned and operated by Chad and Andrea Kimmel, who first debuted their unique Urban Cidery on February 23, 2018.

Built in 1895, this Victorian farmhouse was one of fifteen “tower homes”in this Cumberland County borough. The home has been in the same family since 1973, when the owners, after the birth of the first of three children, decided more room was needed and moved from their small Camp Hill duplex to their “new” Tower Hill home.
Franklin County’s Strategies to Combat Asian Tiger Mosquitoes
Franklin County’s Board of Commissioners issued a reminder to residents on how to protect against Asian tiger mosquitoes, which increase in population from mid-July, peak in mid-September, and decline in October. These mosquitoes, identifiable by their black color with white stripes, target mammals, including humans, for blood and are active during daytime, unlike other species.
