ARGENTA (WCIA) — Incoming senior Quincy Carter has a chance to showcase his talents on a national stage when he competes in the high jump at the AAU Junior Olympics in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Carter finished fifth in the high jump and sixth in the triple jump at the Class 1A State Meet this past spring.

He also plays football for the Bombers, and is excited to see what his senior season has in store.

Carter is grateful for the chance to represent small town Central Illinois and compete against top talent from around the country.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to put on for Argenta, such a small town school,” Carter said.

“Not many people are doing very many big things like this and it’s just like a different competition to go to, because there’s a lot of people there and makes it a different experience than all of these Lincoln Prairie Conference meets, like all of these smaller meets.”
