The Sioux Falls Little League team more than held their own against Florida, but ultimately fell in their first game of the Little League World Series 2-1.

South Dakota took the lead in the fourth inning. After going  hitless through three, they got one when they needed it most. After loading the bases on two walks and a bunt single, Ryan Henry came through with an RBI single to give Sioux Falls a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, Florida scored their first run after two walks and two singles. Then, Luis Carlo hit a sacrifice fly to bring in the go-ahead run.

Florida’s JJ Feliciano struck out 10 and only allowed two hits in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

South Dakota will play an elimination game at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
