After ten years providing rides to seniors, veterans and individuals with disabilities in the Northwest Valley, Northwest Valley Connect announces a new collaboration with FSL to strengthen and expand transportation and healthy aging services in the community.

Founded in 1974 as the Foundation for Senior Living, FSL has since evolved to serve adults of all ages. Working at the intersection of housing and health care, FSL provides community and home-based services to achieve the goal of making Arizona a safe place to age. Their current programming includes a transportation network.

“We believe FSL is the perfect partner to bolster transportation services to ensure that aging adults keep their connection to their community,” said Debbie Gross, NVC board chair.

The acquisition of NVC by FSL will assure that more Northwest Valley residents receive vital transportation services, essential to supporting their physical, mental and financial health. The collective goals are to increase ridership, expand the current service area and strengthen operations to reduce scheduling times, as well as serve as be a key resource to help those we serve age in place safely and independently.

NVC and FSL are working together on a thoughtful, achievable transition. The NVC mission and vision will continue to be fulfilled as part of FSL’s larger goal to make Arizona a safe place to age, and the NVC name will continue to be used to recognize this new FSL program throughout the transition.

“NVC’s committed and caring staff will continue to provide the exemplary service our partners and riders have come to know and deserve,” said Gross.

Riders will continue to use existing phone numbers and website to request services. Gross will join the FSL board of directors. The acquisition is expected to be completed by June 30, to officially be a part of FSL beginning July 1.
