A fully healthy Kyler Murray means the Arizona Cardinals are eyeing a competitive 2024 campaign.

Murray is central to what Arizona hopes to do on offense. Combining his ability to blend play creation and controlled chaos makes him one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in the NFL.

That is why Eric Edholm with NFL.com believes Murray will be the Cardinals' most valuable player during the 2024 season.

Edholm acknowledges there is a case to be made for players like Marvin Harrison Jr., whom the Cardinals selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. However, Harrison's success relies on Murray being the best version of himself. Like the regular season MVP award, quarterbacks have an outsized influence over it.

"If Murray can approach or exceed his 2021 output as a runner and passer, this will be an easy choice," Edholm writes. "The former No. 1 overall pick will turn 27 in August, and his best might still be ahead of him."

The last time Murray was fully healthy was in 2021. At the time, he was in NFL MVP conversations. That is the quarterback Arizona expects to be getting come the fall.

"He's the type of guy that gets better every day," Petzing said of Murray, via NFL.com . "Sometimes it's physically. Sometimes it's mental. Sometimes it's a leadership perspective. But when you take the job and the sport as seriously as he does, I think you're always going to see that growth. I think it's something where he's always looking to be a better player, be a better teammate, be a better leader. So the more opportunities he gets to do it, the more he learns from it just like we do as coaches. I think you saw that throughout the spring."

Murray will be everything for the Cardinals, though the offense does boast a tough runner in James Conner. The soon-to-be 27-year-old Murray is the engine that makes the car run.
