With summer in full swing, many people are busy planning vacations or quick getaways and figuring out the best way to spend time away from work or school. While some may explore destinations far from home, it turns out you don't have to go too far to see incredible sights as some of the best places to visit in the country are right here in Arizona.

World Population Review compiled a list of the "best places to visit" around the U.S., listing out reasons why the destinations are such a big draw and worth seeing whenever you happen to be nearby. According to the site, the top spots to visit in Arizona are Grand Canyon National Park, a stunning attraction that draws in millions of visitors each year hoping to take in the massive scale of the natural wonder, and Antelope Canyon, which got a shout-out for its incredible and unique structures.

Here's what the site had to say:

"Unsurprisingly, one of the best places to visit in Arizona is the Grand Canyon National Park. The Grand Canyon is one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World where visitors can hike, horseback ride, and river raft to take in its sights. While you're in the state, Antelope Canyon is another must-see, where guided tours allow visitors to experience breathtaking, wave-like red stone."
