Kari Lake Rages At The News Media, Ominously Tells Journalists You’ve ‘Worn Out Your Welcome’

Kari Lake, the GOP’s leading candidate for U.S. Senate in Arizona, spoke at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night and began her speech by slamming the news media and saying they are not welcome at the convention.

Lake was greeted by a loud applause as she began her remarks, “Hello. I love you. I love you. I love you, Arizona. You guys are amazing. Wow, this. This is MAGA energy tonight, guys.”

As the cheering continued, she added, “Love it. Oh, wow. This room. America, I wish you were in this room with us. This is electric.”

“Hello, America. Welcome, everybody who’s watching at home. And welcome everybody in this great arena tonight. We love you all. Actually, actually, wait a minute. I don’t mean that. I don’t welcome everybody in this meeting, in this room. The guys up in the fake news, frankly,” said the former longtime news anchor to more cheering.

“Frankly, you guys up there in the fake news have worn out your welcome,” continued Lake, who lost her 2022 bid for governor of Arizona and was one of the most prominent candidates that cycle pushing Trump’s debunked claim the 2020 election was stolen.

“Right. You’ve worn it out, guys,” Lake continued, adding:

You have spent the last eight years lying about President Donald Trump and his and his amazing patriotic supporters. Actually, guys, they lie about everything. They’ve lied about Joe Biden’s health, the economy, the laptop, the border. I could go on and on and on. But the really good news is that every day, more and more people are turning off the fake news. And they’re. And Americans are waking up to the truth about the disastrous Democrat policies pushed by Joe Biden and his favorite congressman, my opponent, Ruben Gallego.

These guys. They are full. They’re full of bad ideas. Just last week, Ruben Gallego voted to let the millions of people who poured into our country illegally cast a ballot in this upcoming election. Gallego and the Democrats have handed over control of my state, Arizona’s border, to the drug cartels. And because of them, criminals and deadly drugs are pouring in and our children are dying.

CNN’s Daniel Dale quickly fact-checked Lake’s speech and noted it’s not true that Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) voted to let illegal migrants vote. Dale explained that laws already bar illegal migrants from voting in federal elections. Gallego voted against a House GOP bill, that had no chance of becoming law, that would have added verification measures for citizens to register to vote.
