According to the Arizona Weatherman, while the overall state is not experiencing significant monsoon thunderstorm activity, the southeast section of Arizona expects convective activity today. This is not a widespread event but is most likely to impact your communities in Cochise, Santa Cruz, Eastern Pima, and possibly Graham Counties. There is some upper-level divergence near the border of southern Arizona and moderate instability that will focus more actively near communities like Nogales, Sierra Vista, and other border towns. The thunderstorms may produce convective gusts greater than 60 mph and less likely localized flooding. The storms will likely form between 2 pm and 6 pm and move southward with the steering flow.

Stay safe, watch your local radar and NWS warnings, and please do not cross flooded roadways. Again, it is not a widespread event, but it is more likely to impact Southeastern Arizona today.
