The pattern looks similar, with afternoon thunderstorms igniting on the Rim after 12 p.m. and moving southwestward into the late afternoon with the upper-level steering flow. Some significant upper-level speed divergence will enhance these storms. These storms will kick off in southern Apache, Navajo, Gila, Coconino, and Yavapai Counties and move into Pinal. To the south, after 1 p.m., thunderstorms are expected to develop in Cochise, Santa Cruz, Graham, and eastern Pima counties. There is the evening potential for Maricopa and La Paz Counties as well.

The stability indices are moderate to highly unstable and can produce isolated severe conditions such as convective wind gusts >60 mph, hail up to 1 inch, and localized flooding. Although the extent of severe weather may not be as expansive as the day before, it is still going to be an issue today. So, please keep in mind your local radar, NWS warnings, and flooding conditions before traveling.

Some of the cities and towns that look to be impacted either in the vicinity or over the city will be Show Low, Willcox, Safford, Flagstaff, Prescott, Sierra Vista, and at least in the vicinity or overhead for Tucson late afternoon into the evening. Phoenix still has a slight chance of vicinity this evening.
