    Arkansas man drowned girlfriend's son, 5, in toilet and dumped body under floor after child bit him

    An Arkansas man drowned his girlfriend's terrified five-year-old son in the toilet and dumped the body under the floorboards after the child bit his hand when he put his finger in. the tot's mouth . Savage Nathan Bridges, 34, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree battery in the death of Blu Rolland.

    The child's body was discovered by police under the floorboards of the house after Blu's mom Ashley, 30, called her parents saying the child was dead. Police raced to the scene and found the tragic tot on December 16, 2022 - the same day he should have celebrated his sixth birthday.

    According to court documents , the child's body had been hidden for three months before it was discovered by officers. Blu's sister, six,. was found with several injuries - including burns to her arms, chest and feet, and taken to hospital. Officers arrested Bridges and Rolland on the spot.

    Ashley Rolland told the police that on 9th September 2022, Bridges provoked the boy by sticking his finger in his mouth, which led to the boy biting it and infuriating Bridges. Rolland stated that Bridges then took Blu to the bathroom where he repeatedly dunked the boy's head in the toilet until he drowned, according to the affidavit.

    She further revealed that Bridges proceeded to cut a hole in the wooden floor of their home, burying Blu wrapped in plastic bags and covered with a blanket.

    A harrowing probable cause affidavit revealed: "Deputies located where Blu was reported to be and found newly nailed-down board. Deputies removed the boards and found disturbed earth underneath.

    "Deputies removed the top layer of the earth and found a child’s flip-flop shoes and a red and blue blanket. Removing the top layer of the earth released the pungent odor of decay.”

    Bridges pleaded guilty last week and was sentenced to 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

    Rolland faces multiple felony charges, including Capital Murder, Permitting Child Abuse, Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Battery. Her case is still awaiting trial in Lee County.
