Hinsdale pool a pretty cool place to be
By mid-afternoon Tuesday, it was hard to believe rainy, gloomy weather had caused the Hinsdale Community Pool to close earlier that day. The sun was shining from a brilliant blue sky adorned with fluffy white clouds. The crowd might have been smaller than usual, but there are still plenty of patrons - adults swimming laps, playing with their kids in the water or reading a book in the shade of one of the large umbrellas. Two-year-old Millie Jane Muskievicz was participating enthusiastically in her private swim lesson with instructor Finn Hamman, a rising junior at Hinsdale Central.

Oak School wrapped up the school year recently with its annual talent show, "A Night Under the Stars." Dozens of students performed in the 34 acts that took the stage that evening. Among some of the kindergarten boys and girls who did the "Kindergarten Eras Dance" were Mattie Karstens, John Kourafas and Mason Weck. 2024 State of the Village Dinner
On April 24, 2024 the Elburn Chamber of Commerce hosted its second annual State of the Village Dinner at the Elburn Lions Club. The purpose of this event is to reinforce the vision and mission for Elburn and to provide a unique opportunity for business, community, and school district leaders to come together in support of our community. Mayor Jeff Walter gave an engaging presentation that included Elburn facts, accomplishments from the previous year, budget and finances, key issues and challenges, future planning and for fun a bit of Elburn trivia for prizes.

He is a little on the shy side but once he warms up to you, you will be delighted by his goofy personality. He gets along with other dogs his size and is also nice to cats. The Fourth of July became a federal holiday in 1870, just a few years before Hinsdale's incorporation. Soon residents of the nascent village were staging their own festivities, like the 1875 celebration that "started at 5 a.m. with the booming of a cannon, no one tells who owned it or where it was located, and it was fired intermittently until 9 a.m. that morning," according to preserved records.
