Special Olympics Indiana urgently needs more coaches to support their expanding roster of athletes. Humans have a fundamental need to be around other humans. As a child, I don't think there was any greater emotional pain than being excluded from an activity or game with peers. It's a sting that lingers, and one that can really ding your self-worth. Inclusion matters, as highlighted in the Special Olympics mission statement. The organization has been empowering athletes for decades, specifically those with intellectual disabilities. Bloomington closes Rail Trail encampments, adds homelessness coordinator in 2025 budget
Another homeless encampment has been cleared in Bloomington, this time along the Rail Trail south of Country Club Drive and North of Gordon Pike. At a news conference in the first week of August, Bloomington mayor Kerry Thomson said that the encampments along the Rail Trail, which had 30-day notices posted towards early July, were still on course for removal “in the next couple of weeks.”
