HATS OFF TO AG EVENT COMBINED WITH FIELD TO FORK
In order to maximize resources, the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Hats Off to Ag is being combined with another Chamber event, Field to Fork: A Farm to Table Connection. Both events are projects of the Chamber’s Ag Committee. Hats Off to Ag was to take place on Thursday, July 25th.
AUGUST BUSINESS AFTER HOURS TO BE HELD AT FORTE LIVING
The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce’s August Business After Hours mixer will be held on Thursday, August 8 from 5:15 to 7:00 pm at Forte Living, 1004 27th Avenue Northeast. Host and sponsor is Forte Living. Food and beverages will be catered by Ken’s SuperFair Foods. The member drawing is at $800 and a staff member of the drawn business must be present to win.
U8 Squad Fourth At State Tourney
Britton took its U8 Junior Jacks baseball team to the state tournament in Madison for the first time last weekend and came home with a fourth place trophy. A total of 30 teams all competed in one class and after pool play were divided into three different brackets. Britton beat Avengers Blue from Mitchell in the first round of pool play 11-0, and then dropped decisions to the West Central Rebels 11-4 and the Brandon Valley Black Sox 11-0 in pool play games to earn a spot in the White Bracket.

GLACIAL LAKES ENERGY DONATES $50,000 TOWARDS BAIRD SLEDDING HILL PROJECT
This year’s Leadership Aberdeen class has been raising funds for the past several months to purchase a snow maker machine and snow groomer to make Baird Hill a safer, more usable sledding hill for families to use throughout the winter months. Last week the class took a big step forward in fundraising for this project to happen this winter season with a $50,000 donation from Glacial Lakes Energy.

City approves change orders for Trojan Village and Public Works Building
The Madison City Commission approved three change orders at their meeting on Monday. The first change was for the Trojan Village Street Construction and Extension of Washington Avenue and Division Avenue. The existing subgrade was found to be soft and in need of stabilization. Aggregate thickness will be increased from 8” to 12” thick except at the intersection of Washington Avenue where it will be 16” thick.
