But the 2024 edition won't be a typical MLB All-Star week, especially regarding the 2024 Home Run Derby field format.
Gone is the traditional tournament format favoring an output-based format, where the four highest home run hitters will be determined after the opening round. Despite the slight change, the same exhilarating excitement should dictate how the evening goes. Some of the game's best, including New York Mets star Pete Alonzo, headline the evening, along with Jose Ramirez and six other hopefuls battling for Glory.
Leading up to the Home Run Derby, the MLB Draft, and several other activities should make for a thrilling backdrop leading up to the MLB All-Star Game, which features the best from the National and American Leagues against each other.

Home Run Derby bracket 2024
Given the slight rule changes for the Home Run Derby, a bracket and seeding will not be instituted until the top 4 home run hitters advance. Therefore, the No. 1 seed will face the No. 4 seed, and the No. 2 seed will face the No. 3 seed. Unlike in previous years, the opening round will not have head-to-head pairings.
