    This Texas native is singing the national anthem at the MLB All-Star Game

    ARLINGTON (KDAF) — The Major League Baseball All-Star Game is hitting Globe Life Field in Arlington tonight, and it’s bringing some star power to the Midsummer Classic. So, who’s stepping up to the mic? None other than Texas country sensation, Cody Johnson!

    At 37, Johnson has become a standout star in country music, earning multiple Academy of Country Music Awards nominations and winning big at the Country Music Association Awards for Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year with “‘Til You Can’t.”

    Johnson is no rookie when it comes to singing at major events, especially baseball. He brought the house down with the “Star-Spangled Banner” at Game 7 of the World Series in Houston in 2019, along with a Texas Rangers game and the Houston Astros’ Opening Day game in 2023.
