Cody Johnson Set To Sing National Anthem Ahead Of MLB All-Star Game

Cody Johnson gets the honors of singing the "Star Spangled Banner" in his home state. The Texas native will kick the MLB All-Star game off tonight with a rendition of the national anthem at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Johnson's performance will mark the second night in a row that the MLB has trusted a country music artist to sing the "Star Spangled Banner," and I think we all know how night one went. Ingrid Andress sang the national anthem last night shortly before the MLB's Home Run Derby got started, and her performance quickly made the rounds on social media. She's since revealed that she was intoxicated during the performance, and that she intends to check herself into a rehab facility. Needless to say, the bar has been set rather low as far as anthem expectations go, but I can tell you right now that the MLB would have had a hard time finding a better voice to belt out the "Star Spangled Banner" in the state of Texas than Cody Johnson.
