UW’s Wyoming Center on Aging awarded $5M grant to expand needs for older adults in the Cowboy State
The University of Wyoming has announced that their Department of Psychology’s Wyoming Center on Aging (WyCOA) has been awarded a $5 million grant that will be used to enhance partnerships to expand and strengthen geriatrics education for the health care workforce and to expand resources for the state’s older adults and caregivers.
2,577 horses rounded up in BLM North Lander horse gather
CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Bureau of Land Management’s efforts to control horse populations in the North Lander Complex is complete, with 2,577 total horses rounded up. According to a BLM Facebook post, the creatures were gathered from BLM-managed public lands and adjacent private lands where they had moved outside of the complex.
Torrential Monsoon Rains, Flooding Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday. This will bring scattered to numerous storms to the area during the afternoon and evening. Torrential rains could exist in these storms which could lead to possible flooding concerns on both days.

Recent Lovell High School graduate Parker Anderson was selected to compete for the North team in the annual Wyoming Coaches Association North vs. South All-Star boys basketball game held at Casper College on Saturday as the North defeated the South 80-69. The Medicine Bow Museum is prepped and ready for the arrival of the largest operational steam train in the world. At 11:00am Friday morning, the Union Pacific Big Boy will arrive in Medicine Bow for the next-to-final stop of its Westward Bound Tour. Photo – Snowy Range highway – Bigfoot99 file photo. A police chase through the Snowy Range ends with an 18-year old suspect from Saratoga killing himself. Late Wednesday evening, a Saratoga Police Officer attempted to stop a green and gold Subaru Outback for speeding in town. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Saratoga resident Ayden Lecureux, refused to stop for the police officer and attempted to flee. Lecureux reached speeds of 60 miles an hour in town as he fled south along Highway 130.
