Years later, it might cost a little more to golf, but the course and its clubhouse, located on Roy Lake two miles south of Lake City, are still going strong, thanks to many dedicated individuals. Man dies from injuries in Codington County crash
WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – An 88-year-old man passed away on Wednesday from injuries he received in a two-vehicle crash near Watertown. The crash happened around 10 a.m. on June 27. The driver of a 2022 AGCO Terragotor crop sprayer was making a left turn from 455th Avenue into a field approach when the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox attempted to pass and collided with the tractor.

The baseball team was one of 90 entries in what was another spectacular Independence Day parade that drew more than 2,000 people from all across the region. The processional last 50 minutes and featured a wide range of businesses and organizations from Menno, Scotland, Freeman and other communities, which was followed by a Menno FFA barbecue that packed the city/school auditorium to capacity and then some. Activities continue at Pioneer Acres this afternoon with baseball and fireworks later this afternoon and into the night.
Turkey vulture goes home with animal control
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — An animal control officer in Belle Fourche had an unexpected house guest earlier this week. Police said the officer picked up an injured turkey vulture on Tuesday. Authorities said on the police’s Facebook page, the bird spent the night at the officer’s home and was taken to the Black Hills Raptor Center on Wednesday.
Eights to Host Box Elder Sunday
Sunday afternoon the Eights will face Box Elder for the first time as Post 315 will come to town for two big games in the South Dakota standings. The Box Elder team has a roster featuring kids more from Rapid City Stevens high school team, but their coming off a big split on Tuesday against Brandon Valley. Box Elder beat Post 131 3-1 in game one, but fell 13-3 in game two. Box Elder is 5-7 in South Dakota games and 6-9 overall. Pierre, at 4-20 and 3-12 in South Dakota games and the two are separated by less than a point in the standings. Both teams will have full access at pitching with both not having played in four straight days.
