SJB Planning Commission greenlights food trucks on city streets

If the measure is passed by the council, food trucks would pay a $150 per-year fee to be allowed to operate from three designated city street locations from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Metro offers free rides, ticket discounts to Santa Cruz County Fair
The Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District will offer free fares to the Santa Cruz County Fair on both fixed-route and ParaCruz services Sept. 11-15. To provide additional service to attendees, Metro has also created a special route, Route 79F, that will provide free daily service to the county fairgrounds outside Watsonville. Additionally, Metro will offer free service on the Route 79 weekend service and daily ParaCruz service to the fairgrounds in Watsonville. Fixed-route customers can utilize Route 79F to get to the fairgrounds daily, but Route 79 will provide service to the fairgrounds only during the weekend of Sept. 14 and 15.

On Friday, August 30 at 3pm, the public is invited to an International Overdose Awareness Day event on the Watsonville City Plaza at 358 Main St. in Watsonville. Free naloxone will be distributed along with education on how simple it is to use. More than 25 agencies and clinics who support substance use prevention and substance use disorders will be on hand with resources and information, particularly for teens and parents, to help prevent opioid-related tragedies.
