Two juveniles arrested in connection with Mars Hill burglaries
Aroostook County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two 17-year-old juveniles in connection to a string of burglaries in Mars Hill. The burglaries occurred during the evening hours of July 2 and July 3 at the Mars Hill Redemption Center, Al’s Diner, and Timberwolves Restaurant located, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office. All three businesses had been broken into and several different items were stolen from each business.

Research On Rare Trout In Aroostook Being Conducted — Two rare species of trout are making history in Maine, a Development Commission source said here today. Scotch Sea trout, painted two decades ago, are being caught in Alamoosook Lake, Orland, and Bluebacks (Salvelinus Oquassa) have excited zoologists to form a scientific expedition to Pushineer Pond in the Deboullie region of Aroostook County, the source added.
Aroostook woman rides in a limousine to celebrate her 107th birthday
A former Caribou woman celebrated her upcoming 107th birthday by hitting the road in a limousine. Anna Roberts, who now lives at Leisure Village in Presque Isle, worked for many years at the Caribou city clerk’s office and was lauded as the city’s oldest resident. She is believed to be one of Maine’s oldest residents, as well.

The city has several of these kits available and is giving them away on a first come first served basis. Aroostook County experiences extreme weather regularly and the city of Presque Isle has made emergency weather kits available to help residents cope with extreme weather situations. One reason Presque Isle has decided to distribute these kits is to inform residents about file of life forms. Which are used to relay your medical information to first responders.
