Minot Bridge To Remain Closed
(Minot, ND) — The Third Street Bridge in Minot will remain closed for some time after a recent inspection revealed structural problems. Officials say concrete on one of the bridge’s piers is breaking away, and both the DOT and the Minot engineering department will perform additional inspections and testing. The goal is to figure out how much weight the deteriorating pier can handle. There’s no word on when repairs will begin or when the bridge will reopen.

Man killed in Fargo 4th of July motorcycle crash has been identified
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - North Dakota Highway Patrol released the name of a man killed in a south Fargo motorcycle crash as 47-year-old Jason Short of Fargo. Troopers say around 10:40 pm on July 4th, Short was driving a motorcycle eastbound on 13th Ave. S. in Fargo, when he entered the intersection of 25th St. S. on a red light. Troopers say another vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Kellcie Brown was driving southbound on 25th St. S. on a green light and was hit by the motorcycle on the right corner of the car.

MELIÁ GROWS GREECE PORTFOLIO: Meliá Hotels International has widened its footprint in Greece with the signing of a new franchise agreement for a hotel in Elounda, Crete. The hotel will open under the INNSiDE by Meliá brand and launch a premium lifestyle brand, which caters to a new generation of travelers. The signing marks Meliá’s fifth property in Greece as well as the Greek debut of the INNSiDE by Meliá brand. The existing Elounda Ilion will be renamed INNSiDE Crete Elounda and will open in May. The renovated and rebranded luxury 85-room hotel sits atop a hill overlooking the Gulf of Elounda and offers direct sea views. The signing builds upon Meliá’s partnership with Zeus Hotels, which has resulted in a collective offering of more than 1,050 rooms.
