Sakura to open location at Bridgewater’s Generations Park
BRIDGEWATER, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Town of Bridgewater will welcome a new location of Sakura restaurants to its Generation Park this fall. According to a news release, the Town’s Industrial Development Authority, which owns the restaurant space at Generations Park, voted unanimously to approve a lease agreement between the IDA and Sakura Bridgewater on July 24.

City of Harrisonburg launches new sustainability program ‘EATS’
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The City of Harrisonburg has launched EATS, a new sustainability program encouraging the food service industry to reduce its food waste footprint. EATS, or Eateries Acting Towards Sustainability, is a free and voluntary Green Restaurant Certification Program that aligns with the city’s Environmental Action Plan. The certification acknowledges local businesses’ sustainability efforts and encourages them to continue to pursue environmental efforts.
Town of Elkton holds grand opening for new Downtown Marketplace
ELKTON, Va. (WHSV)—Dozens attended the unveiling of Elkton’s new Downtown Marketplace Friday Evening. Many locals and project donors attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The project was over 30 years in the making in the historic area dubbed ‘Lawn Party Hill,’ but it wasn’t until 2021 that the old owners were willing to sell the land to the town. The town was recently awarded a $155,000 grant from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation for its Downtown Marketplace project.
