5-Star Point Guard Includes WVU in Top 5
Destiny Jackson, a women’s basketball recruit from Chicago, ranked as the No. 24 overall recruit in the class of 2025 by ESPN has included West Virginia in her top-five. Jackson, a 5-foot-6 guard plays for Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, where she averaged 16.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game last season. Jackson will also be playing in the Overtime Select League, a four-week league held in the OTE Arena in Atlanta for ‘elite’ high school girls basketball players aged 14-18.

WATCH: WVU Women’s Basketball Team Holds Outdoor Workout
The West Virginia women’s basketball team recently held an outdoor workout, which the program’s social media posted. The Mountaineers went 25-8 last season under first-year head coach Mark Kellogg and made the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Iowa in the second round. In Kellogg’s second year, the team will be looking to have similar success, possibly making it further in the tournament, while continuing to put WVU as a top team in women’s college basketball. This summer workout can be a testament to the team’s commitment to improvement.
