2 dead in listeria outbreak likely linked to sliced deli meats
Two people have died in a listeria outbreak across 12 states in the U.S. that is likely linked to sliced deli meats, according to the CDC. In total, 28 people have been infected and hospitalized with the disease as of Friday in an outbreak that began in May, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Report: Trump-ally Mike Pompeo takes Nippon job to help complete U.S. Steel sale
Amid a contentious proposed sale, Japanese company Nippon Steel Corp. has hired former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, according to a report from Bloomberg. Bloomberg reports that Pompeo was hired to help push through a proposed $14.9 billion purchase of Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel, as opposition for the sale has grown.
Stowe Township police searching for missing woman
Stowe Township police are searching for a missing woman. Katelynn Conrad was last seen in the Stowe area. She could be near Butler, according to police. Conrad is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs around 100 pounds. She has blonde hair, but police say that may have changed since she was last seen. Anyone with information on Conrad’s whereabouts is asked to call Stowe Township police.

Morgantown honoring native Don Knotts with festival, kicks off this weekend
MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - It’s been more than a decade since actor and comedian Don Knotts passed away, but that hasn’t his hometown from celebrating what would be his 100th birthday. July 20th-24th, the city of Morgantown will host a festival honoring the beloved entertainer. With movie showings and performances from Knott’s friends and family members at the Metropolitan Theater. There is also a walking and driving tour where fans and history buffs can explore some of the Emmy-winning artist’s favorite Morgantown spots. Morgantown’s Director of Arts and Cultural Development, Vincent Kitch hopes the festival will show younger generations just how one-of-a-kind Knotts was.
