The Cussler Museum , found in Colorado, preserves "astounding, rare, and vintage automobiles from all over the world."

Located in Arvada, the museum includes over 100 significant automobiles that range in years from 1906 to 1965.

The museum was started by renowned best-selling author Clive Cussler, who passed away in 2020. Cussler began his collection with a 1946 Ford Club Coupe, which he restored with his son in the street. After Cussler's Dirk Pitt books became bestsellers he bought more exotic examples of classic autos, including a 1955 Rolls Royce and 1926 Hispano Suiza Cabriolet.

The Cussler Museum is open seasonally from May to September on Thursdays, Fridays, and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In a message posted on the museum's website, Cussler writes that someday the cars will be looked at as "mechanical masterworks of art and receive the admiration that is given to the Van Goghs and Rembrandts."

While Cussler died at his home in Paradise Valley, Arizona at the age of 88 in February of 2020, he was also a part-time resident of Colorado.
