Asbury Park Recreation Hosts 2024 Community Karma Backpack Drive

ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Park Recreation Committee is thrilled to announce the 2024 Asbury Park Backpack Drive. In collaboration with Community Karma, Asbury Park Little League, and St. Stephen AME Zion Church, this initiative aims to ensure that at least 1,000 students are equipped with backpacks filled with necessary school supplies as they prepare for the new school year.

Community members are encouraged to donate by July 31st to help meet this goal. There are several ways to contribute:

- Shop Online: Purchase school supplies at YouGiveGoods.
- Make a Donation: Provide monetary support through Community Karma's website .
- Shop & Drop Off at City Hall: Buy basic school supplies for grades K-12 (backpacks, notebooks, pencil cases, pencils, markers, crayons, etc.) and drop them off in the collection box in the lobby at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.

The backpacks filled with supplies will be distributed to children on Sunday, August 25th, at a fun Community Day event at St. Stephen AME Zion Church in Asbury Park. To register to receive a backpack, visit Community Karma's registration page .

This is the second year in a row that these organizations have teamed up to support the Asbury Park community, ensuring students are well-prepared for the upcoming school year.
