4-year-old being treated after nearly drowning at Buchanan CO party
A four-year-old boy is being treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital after nearly drowning at an Independence Day party in Buchanan County. Buchanan County Sheriff Bill Puett reports the father and grandfather of the boy performed CPR after rescuing the boy from the pool. Emergency workers rushed the boy to Mosaic Life Care. He then was transferred to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City.
1 person killed, five injured in shooting at fireworks gathering in St. Louis County
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - One person was killed and five others were injured during a shooting overnight in St. Louis County, police say. St. Louis County Police responded to the 1200 block of Lakeview Avenue just after 11 p.m. Thursday night for a call for a shooting. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot injury on scene. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Columbia’s Fourth of July fire in the sky fireworks display is a go for tonight, according to city spokeswoman Sydney Olsen. Columbia’s Parks and Recreation department met this morning to review the National Weather Service’s (NWS) latest forecast models. Parks and Recreation officials were concerned about earlier forecast models that showed a much better chance of severe weather. The latest models show that the severe weather threat has moved much further to the south and southeast of Columbia, including towns like Rolla and Cape Girardeau.
