Texas Lottery's $1 Million Mystery: Winner Has Days to Claim Prize

    2024-08-26

Race Against Time: Texas Lottery Hunts for Missing Millionaire

A life-changing windfall hangs in the balance as the Texas Lottery Commission issues an urgent reminder about an unclaimed $1 million Mega Millions prize. The winning ticket, purchased in Houston for the March 19 drawing, will become void if not redeemed by September 13 at 5 p.m.

Texas Lottery Executive Director Ryan Mindell urged players to double-check their tickets, emphasizing the importance of signing the back before claiming the prize at an official claim center.

We hope to celebrate the Texas Lottery player who became a $1 million prize winner in the March 19, 2024, Mega Millions drawing. We encourage our Mega Millions players to take another look at their tickets, check the numbers again, and if your numbers match, sign the back of the ticket before claiming your prize at a Texas Lottery claim center.”

The elusive winner matched five numbers: 24-46-49-62-66, but missed the Mega Ball 7. The golden ticket was sold at All-Season Food on Antoine Drive in Houston.

As the clock ticks down, lottery officials and hopeful Houstonians alike are on tenterhooks, wondering if the millionaire-in-waiting will step forward or if the prize will go unclaimed, joining the annals of lottery lore.
