Red Lobster Sinks Deeper: More Locations to Close, Including Several in Florida

Florida-based Red Lobster's Restructuring Tsunami Claims Another 23 Restaurants

Red Lobster's financial woes deepen as the struggling seafood chain announces another round of closures amid its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 on May 19, has revealed plans to shutter an additional 23 locations by August 31, according to documents filed with a Florida bankruptcy court.

This latest move brings the total number of Red Lobster restaurant closures in the United States to at least 129 in recent months, significantly reducing the chain's operational footprint. The new closures include three locations in Florida.

Red Lobster executives stated they would be declining leases for these 23 restaurants as part of their restructuring efforts. The company's bankruptcy filing earlier this year came after it had closed dozens of locations to stabilize its financial situation.
