H-E-B, the renowned Texas-based grocery chain, is expanding its footprint in North Texas with the acquisition of a new property in Irving. This move marks the company's first venture into Irving, specifically in the Las Colinas community. The planned store, set to open in late 2026, will be strategically located at the intersection of Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard.

This expansion is part of H-E-B's broader commitment to serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The new Irving store will join the existing network of 12 locations in North Texas, which includes Central Market and Joe V's Smart Shop stores. The addition is expected to create approximately 700 jobs, boosting local employment opportunities.

The Irving location is designed to cater to residents of Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, and West Dallas, offering convenient access to H-E-B's diverse range of grocery options. Construction is slated to begin later this year, with the store opening its doors to customers in about three years.

Irving's Mayor Rick Stopfer expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting how H-E-B's arrival will enhance the community's quality of life by providing affordable grocery options. The mayor also emphasized the collaborative efforts between H-E-B, the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, and other community stakeholders in making this development possible.

This expansion follows H-E-B's recent opening of its second Frisco store, further solidifying the company's presence in North Texas. With five more stores in the pipeline, including the Irving location, H-E-B continues to demonstrate its commitment to serving the diverse communities of the region.
