The 20th Annual Big Tex® Choice Awards at the State Fair of Texas has once again showcased the creativity and culinary prowess of fair food vendors. This year's competition featured an array of innovative dishes that pushed the boundaries of traditional fair cuisine.

The Dominican Fritura Dog, created by Justin Martinez, took home the "Best Taste – Savory" award. This unique twist on a classic corn dog incorporates Dominican flavors and textures, offering fairgoers a taste of international cuisine.

In the sweet category, Isaac Rousso's Cotton Candy Bacon on a Stick claimed the "Best Taste – Sweet" title. This creation skillfully blends the savory taste of bacon with the sweetness of cotton candy, caramelized to perfection.

The "Most Creative" award went to Heather Perkins for her Texas Sugar Rush Pickles. This unconventional dish combines pickle slices with various cereals and cotton candy, topped with strawberry syrup and served with vanilla ice cream.

Other finalists included innovative offerings like The Drowning Taquitos, Hippie Chips, and Hot Chick-in-Pancake Poppers, demonstrating the wide range of culinary creativity on display at the fair.
