Utah Sees Major Job Losses With Layoffs Across Multiple Industries

Disappointing news for employees at three companies in Utah, with mass layoff notices filed with the state this week.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, an employer with more than 100 full-time workers must provide a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more people at a single site. These must be filed with the Utah Department of Workforce Services.

The following companies have advised of mass layoffs:

• Purple Innovation is laying off 328 staff in Salt Lake City on October 22
• Blue Raven is laying off 766 staff in Orem on November 12.
• StubHub is laying off 297 staff in Salt Lake City.
